Winston Wu, Ph.D.
Winston Wu joined Proteovant Therapeutics, now SK Life Science Labs, in August 2021 as Vice President, Head of CMC. Winston has over 30 years of CMC experience in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry.
Before joining the company, he spent about 16 years at Lexicon Pharmaceuticals where his most recent position was Vice President of Chemical Research, Development & Manufacturing, responsible for drug substance development and manufacturing as well as medicinal chemistry. While at Lexicon, Winston led the drug substance development and manufacturing for 12 clinical candidates, two of which received FDA approval. Before Lexicon, Winston worked at Schering-Plough for six years in their chemical development department. He was a member of the team that received the Thomas Alva Edison Patent award for the invention of vorapaxar (ZONTIVITY®). Prior to Schering, he spent 5 years developing manufacturing processes for herbicides at American Cyanamid.
Winston received his bachelor’s degree from Nankai University in China, MA from Rice University, and Ph.D. from Duke University, all in chemistry.
