Dr. Bomie Han joined SK Life Science Labs in 2021 and is the Head of the Integrated Solutions leading a team of diverse expertise encompassing Computational Biology, Computational Chemistry, Mathematical Biology, and Mass Spectrometry. Bomie also leads the development of Sapphire platform for E3-agonistic screening of molecular glue degraders.

Before joining the company, Bomie had experiences in drug discovery research for over 23 years at Eli Lilly and Co., where he worked in multiple therapeutic areas including cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, oncology, and neurogenerative diseases. Through his tenure at Lilly, Bomie combined his expertise in protein mass spectrometry with biochemistry, chemical biology and mathematical biology to provide critical analysis of the complex biological systems and innovative solutions for challenging problems at all phases of drug discovery.

Bomie earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and master’s degree in biochemistry from Seoul National University, and doctor’s degree (Ph.D.) in biological chemistry and molecular pharmacology from Harvard University with additional training in neurobiology as a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard Medical School. Bomie made a seminal contribution to the field of targeted protein degradation with his publication (JBC 2020) that established the mathematical basis for analysis of the ternary complex system.
